MARIA TEBO) born about 1842 in Quebec. Living in York Township when the 1851 Census was taken and in Halton County when the 1861 Census was taken. She died before the 1901 Census was taken. Family members indicate the TEBO's (also spelt THIBAULT) are thought to be/known to be of Native American French mixed descent. WILLIAM ALEXANDER SERVICE is shown as WILLIAM HENRY SERVICE on the birth certificate of William Henry Service born May 1, 1872.

2.Birth certificate of WILLIAM HENRY SERVICE confirms MARIA TEBO as mother.

UPDATE: Maria Tebo is now thought to be the daughter of Jessey and Maria Tebo (Thibault) born about 1842 in Quebec, residing in York Township when the 1851 Census was taken. This would make her sister of Elizabeth (who was the second wife of Samuel Scriber) and possibly where the confusion about her surname (some members advised incorrectly she was Mariah Scriber) arose.

2. JAMES ALEXANDER SERVICE has family recorded birthdate of May 1, 1872 (see above) and WILLIAM HENRY SERVICE has family recorded birthdate of December 11, 1865. It is not known if they changed his name to James after his birth or not.

3. RICHARD ALEXANDER SERVICE is also recorded as RICHARD W SERVOS and as RICHARD SPIER SERVICE (1881 Census)

William Service death record that I recently acquired from another family researcher. It is in four parts because it was one of those wide sheet records. There are asterisks to indicate the information that corresponds to William Service. Unfortunately at that time, parents were not recorded.
